Seveno has continued the development of the flagship software DataSight during 2004 culminating in the release of DataSight 2.7 in December. The release of DataSight 2.7 has taken longer than anticipated, however we believe that it is well worth the wait. The user friendly features of DataSight have not been altered while additional features and fine tuning of DataSight 2.7 have greatly increase the power of the software.
Some of these features are :
Screen Layout
This has not changed dramatically, however the Graph List and DataSheet List have a been moved to their own window between the Data List and Field List. This provides easy access to your saved reports.
Graphing
Addition of wind roses to the Advanced Properties
Ability to rename series in the legend
Graphing properties box can remain open while working on the graphs
Stop Lighting
The variables have the added feature of Minimum, Maximum and Goal settings to allow the user to set “global” warning levels for any variable. The settings are configured within Variables screen and stop lighting can be activated by left clicking on the datasheet and selecting “Stop Lighting”.
Tick Boxes in Field List
To speed up the selection of variables tick boxes are available beside each variable within the field list. You can now either drag and drop or select by clicking the tick box beside the variables you wish to see on the datasheets.
Report Builder
Report builder has been added to DataSight desktop 2.7 as a “Plug In”. Adding Report Builder enables the user to build complex tabular reports. Once the reports have been built you can import them to the Reports area under the “Saved Views”. The reports use the data displayed in the DataSheet to generate detailed user defined reports. Contact Seveno for further information.
Compliance Signage
Many DataSight users are managing laboratory data. A key issue has been the importation of laboratory data with “<” or “>” signage denoting that the laboratory instrument could not detect or measure the variable. DataSight can now import the signage and associated numerical value. Contact Seveno for further information on how to manage the data and associated variables.
Scheduler
The scheduler has been enhanced with scheduled outputs available in many different outputs such as html, PDF, EXCEL, jpeg. These reports can also now be saved to any location available across the network. This will allow the user to produce reports and even place them on the managers desktop for review.
Naming Convention
A small change has been made to the naming convention within the Data List. Insteady of having Body, Body Type we have moved to calling them level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4. This is a more Generic method allowing users to rename the levels as they required. |
